Gor Mahia, Bidco through to the FKF Betway Cup semi-finals

Gor Mahia and Bidco United are through to the FKF Betway Cup Semi-finals.

Bidco United beat Nairobi City Stars 1-0 while Gor Mahia beat Kariobangi Sharks 2-0.

Kariobangi Sharks hosted Kogalo in the 3 PM kick-off at the Utalii Grounds. Both teams came into the game with their fair share of absentees. Sharks had to make do with the absence of defender Boniface Onyango who is out with an injury.

Kogalo missed Tito Okello as he is in Juba with the Bright Stars. Sammy Onyango and Kelvin Wesonga also missed the game through injury.

Gor went into the half-time break leading through an Abdul Karim goal. The second half was more dramatic as Geoffrey Shiveka missed a glorious chance to level the scores from the penalty spot.

Sydney Ochieng’ then scored for Kogalo, a score they defended to the end. Gor Mahia has been in a rich vein of form since resumption, winning 7 games out of 7 including two cup games.

At the Ruaraka grounds, a 21st-minute goal by David Orem was enough to guarantee Bidco United safe passage to the semi-finals of the FKF Betway Cup. Orem lobbed the  ball past the goalkeeper and despite Bolton Omwenga’s heroic goal-line clearance, the officials agreed that it was a goal.

Gor Mahia and Bidco United now join AFC Leopards and Equity who booked their slots on Wednesday.
