Handball/Women AFCON: Cameroon to play Angola in finals

The last of the senior ladies’ handball Africa Cup of Nations will be played on Friday 18 June. Cameroon is expected to play Angola in the finals in an expectedly competitive encounter.

Cameroon, the host nation of the competition will confront Angola, the two-time reigning champion. The two finalists gained their tickets on Wednesday.

In the primary semi-final, the Palancas Negras beat Tunisia 27-23. While the Lionesses beat Congo on the wire (22-21).

The Cameroonians beat the Congolese on a similar score as in their encounter in the quarterfinals of the 2018 version.

Ekoh Karishma and her colleagues will meet the band of Albertina Kassoma for a dream final between two groups who have records to settle.

The duel between Cameroon and Angola is in fact an exemplary in ladies’ handball.

The two countries have already confronted each other a few times in the Africa Cup of Nations.

However, this match will be a second an ideal opportunity for a last, after 2004.

Cameroon defeated Angola in the gathering stage (28-27), then, at that point lost in the last (20-31). However, that was 17 years prior.

The Indomitable Lionesses have changed a great deal. This year, they vow not to commit similar errors particularly on home soil.
