Patriots Maintain unbeaten run in the Rwandese Basketball Federation National League

 Federation of Rwanda Basketball (FERWABA) reigning national league champions Patriots BBC tipped off the second leg of the 2021 regular season with a resounding 88-60 score against shoot for the stars BBC yesterday, 26th June 202, at the Amahoro outdoor courts.

The Patriots showed their intent of upholding their unbeaten run from the tip-off winning the jump ball through the towering Kenyan Centre, Bush Wamukota. Sagamba sedar hit the go-ahead jump shot to get the game rolling. The Patriots dominated most of the first quarter but shoot for the stars equally matched them to end the quarter 11-9 in favor of the Patriots.

In the second quarter, shoot for the starts started the period on a high causing a major scare to the defending champs. Kamdo Betoudji Frank started the quarter on a high hitting the first shot to tie the game at 11-11 before he shot another perimeter shot to give shoot for the stars the lead. Bikorimana David created a chance for Nshimiyimana Prince to make a floater before he stole the ball and ran downtown to add another layup to give Shoot for the stars BBC a 6 points cushion. Bikorimana David. Nshimiyimana added another 2point floater to bring the scores to 19-11 forcing the Patriots into a timeout after having a 2minutes offensive drought.

After the time out, Nshimiyimana Prince was still a thorn in the flesh of Patriots scoring two more points off Kamdo’s Assists. This forced the Patriots to make substitutions. Sagamba Sedar came back in for Patriots alongside Mugabe Aristide. The Patriots started the comeback led by Sagamba Sedar and held Shoot for Stars to 2points for 6minutes tying the game at 25-25 at the interval.

In the second half, The Patriots came back a different team, tormenting shoots for the stars from the start. Bush Wamukota was a constant menace dominating both the offensive and defensive boards with the rebound and dunks. Ndizeye N. Dieudonne found his scoring touch scoring several crucial points while Sagamba Sedar was the robin in the fable assisting every play. The Patriots went to the break with a 20points cushion leading 58-38.

The Patriots wrapped the game in the fourth with a great performance from Ndizeye N. Dieudonne, Sagamba Sedar, and Bush Wamukota who led the team in Points, Assists, and Rebounds respectively to win the match 88-60.

Ndizeye N. Dieudonne led the Patriots. in scoring with game-high 18points with rebounds and assists. Bush Wamukota had a double-double performance scoring 13 points and 20 rebounds while Sagamba Sedar added 10points, 7rebounds, and 5assists. Kamndoh Betoudji Frank scored 13points for Shoot for the stars with a game-high 21 rebounds and 3 assists while Nshimiyimana prince added 10points for the losers.

In other games played in the same Venue, APR trumped 30plus BBC 108-48, before REG humiliated UR-CMHS 122-27. In the last game of the day, RP – IPRC-Kigali beat Tigers BBC 80-54 to wrap up game day 9 of the 2021 Rwandese basketball season.
