Kenya Lioness will face defending champions Egypt in the 2021 Women’s Fiba AfroBasket Zone Five qualifiers.
The two sides won their semi-final clashes in emphatic fashion at the Kigali Arena in Kigali, Rwanda.
Egypt crushed South Sudan 99-65 in the first semi-final before Kenya blew away hosts Rwanda 79-52 in the second semifinal played on Friday.
The north African, who are the favorites, maintained their unbeaten run with their fourth win of the tournament.
Raneem El Gedawy top scored for Egypt in the semis with 16 points.
On the other hand, Melissa Akinyi scored 21 points as US based duo of Victoria Reynolds and Felmas Koranga finished with 16 and 12 points respectively for Kenya who avenged their game one lose to Rwanda.
Mercy Wanyama added nine points with captain Rose Ouma and Brenda Wasuda averaging seven and six points respectively in the four quarters.
Captain Monay Henderson led Rwanda with 22 points followed by Bella Murekatete with 12 points in the loss.
Rwanda had edged out Kenya 77-45 in the opening match of the tournament.
The Lioness will now face rivals Egypt in the finals today (Saturday) in what is expected to be a thrilling final after a tight group match was witnessed on Wednesday between the two sides.
Kenya surrendered a 27-point lead to lose by a basket (107-106) against Egypt in their last group game.
The sole ticket to the AfroBasket finals will be secured in Saturday’s final between Kenya and Egypt.
The continental showpiece will be held in September in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
