Ehab Galal, Egypt’s head coach, is set to be fired

Gamal Allam, the president of the Egyptian Football Association, has fired Ehab Galal, the national coach. This is as reported by Africa Facts Zone. Gamal stated in an interview with a famous Egyptian television station that they are repairing their error.

In a famous TV show, the head of Egypt’s Football Association states, “We are working to fix our error.”

However, the Egypt’s national soccer coach has been in command for two months.

Recently, Ethiopia trounced Egypt 2-0 last week in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier. However, the Egyptians demand GFA to fire the head coach Ehab Galal as a result of the loss.

Gamal Allam, the Egyptian Football Association’s (EFA) president, declared on a popular TV show that Galal would be replaced.

The daily has also reported on the situation.

Allam told Egyptian TV host Ahmed Moussa, “We are working to repair our error.”

Immediately, when asked why they hired Ehab Galal two months ago, he raised his eyebrows.

“I inquired of the federation’s money manager if we had any funds in the safe to pay for another foreign coach. According to The National, Allam stated, “He informed me we didn’t.”

“We chose an Egyptian coach due of the country’s economic circumstances and the rising value of the dollar,” he explained.

What next?

Mohamed Barakat is in the study of C.Vs to choose a new coach for the national team. This is according to Bambe Wanneh Giovanni a football writer and pundit in Crtv Sports.

Nevertheless, note that Galal’s monthly compensation was 750,000 Egyptian pounds (about $40,000), compared to his Portuguese predecessor Carlos Queiroz’s $127,000.

Also, Allam and members of EFA are expected to quit over the next few days. According to local media, Ehab Galal successor is set to be announced soon. He is a former Manager of Zamalek, Pyramids FC, Ismaily, Al Masry, and Al Ahli SC.
